Pop Rock
As
the name itself says, this genre is the famous "Popular", i.e.
it is done and directed to the mass, not taking into account the tendence
or musical preference of the band or fan. The sucess of pop rock bands
started to be more evident after the 80's, when bands like Duran Duran
and U2 were bringing millions of people to the largest stadiums throughout
the world in megatours, which are on even today. This select group of
Pop Stars are in a place where the majority of groups would like to be
and where most musicians dream of reaching it one day. It is the guarantee
of money, fame and world audience. However, we must mention that not all
the pop music can be considered as "trash", because there are
many good bands which really do a serious and good job with lot of identity,
always improving the music art.
